The supermarket is as quiet and a library!

The supermarket aisles are all lined up parallel to each other. The healthy fruits and vegetable aisles smells fresh and natural. You can feel the chill as you walk down the frozen food aisle, so chilly that you could turn into a snowman. The supermarket is stinky and smelly from the combination of fresh and rotten fruit.

I think we should have rubbish bins in our school environment!

I think we should have rubbish bins in our school environment. This is an issue that we all need to take seriously as it can become a serious problem later on.

My first argument is that if we didn't have have rubbish bins in our school, students and other people that come to our school might litter our environment. This is bad for our school as this will pollute and make our school dirty.
If schools didn’t have rubbish bins, where will the students put their rubbish? In their bags? Sometimes the rubbish might be dirty or wet, which means that if it was put into our bags, our bags will get dirty and wet.

My third argument is that if we have too much rubbish, this may kill the plants and the animals. Students, teachers and other people who are in schools with no rubbish bins, could get sick and they wouldn't be able to go to school.

I strongly believe that we should have rubbish bins in schools so that we can have a healthy and safe environment.

Below are the results of a survey that my group:

What would we do if we had non-recyclable trash and we had no rubbish bin?

83.8% said just hope it decomposes.
2(5.4%) said that they would take it home and chuck it in the bin at home.
8.1% said just leave it.
1(2.7%) said Just throw it into the wind.

Do you think recycling will be dangerous at all?

86.1% said No
13.9% said Yes

Imagine we didn’t put rubbish in rubbish bins, what would happen to our school?

81.6% said pollution
10.5% said probably nothing
3(7.9%) A bad thing

Learning Intention: We are learning to follow the structure of a persuasive writing.
Success Criteria: I know I can do this when I record three reasons why we should have rubbish bins at school.

Going to a party with my mum and dad was so cool!

On Saturday the 3rd of June my mum, dad and I went to my aunt's house to have a celebration because my uncles came back to New Zealand.

When we reached my aunt’s house, we called all my uncles to come to the house so that we could surprise my uncles that have just came to New Zealand. After we called them, we waited for 20 minutes for all my uncles to come. For all my uncles to come. After that, I greeted everyone then went into my cousin’s room to play with them.

After I found my cousins, they were trying to scare anyone that came into their room, but as soon as they heard it was me, they let me into the room. When they heard it was me they let me in and then they asked me if I wanted to play hide and seek I said “Yes, sure!”. While we were playing, my dad and mom said that we should get home because it was starting to get dark so we said our goodbyes and went home.

Going to a barbecue can be so much fun!

On Monday my mum, brother, sisters and I rushed into my mum’s blue  Nissan so she could take us speedily  to go to Mangere hall to have a barbecue with the Sudanese Community.

My mum and sisters ran past us to go to their friends while my brother Isaac and I  went  outside to find our friends. When my brother and I found our friends, we greeted happily them and then we started to play.

Later on, my mum gave me her iphone so my friends and I could listen to some music. We played Better When I’m Dancing, Swalla, Bet You Can’t Do It Like Me, Bruk It Down, Bruk Off Your Back, Options and some music from our culture. We  liked all the songs that we chose.

Next my mum went to the car to get the food that we were having. My mum, my friends and I went to go and help my mum set up the food because there were  over 60 people at this event. Then we set the food on the table. Before we were ready to enjoy our food, we approached everyone to tell them to come inside the hall to pray with us. While we were waiting to pray, my mum and my aunties aunties said for the children and I to lead the prayer. So we did. I felt confident and calm because I knew all the people there.

After we finished eating, we grabbed a drink and my friends and I went to my brother and his friends outside so that we could play with them. We  played tag on the monkey bar, hide and seek and can you hang upside down the longest.

After a while it got dark so my mum said it was time to go home so we said bye to everyone and  went back home.

I like going to barbecues because it is lots of fun I really enjoyed watching people cook the food and helping them out at the event!

Going to my cousin's birthday!

Drinks-raspberry-blueberry-pineapple-cola
Lollies- strawberry
Songs-Lean and dab,Bet can do it like me,cutral songs and controlla
Games-tag,can you hang upside down

On Saturday, my family and I went to the hall to celebrate my  cousin’s birthday. When we got there, we said hello to everyone.

First my mum and dad went to their friends to talk about the dance off, so my brother and I went to find our friends. After we found them, we played games on the safety monkey like tag and can you hang upside down the longest. Afterwards my cousins and I went into the hall to give out some lollies to the rest of the children because they were from my aunty to give out. Before long, the boys came in the hall and we had a dance off. Next, my cousins and I were dancing to some cultural music and Controlla. The boys and my brother were dancing to Lean and Dab and Bet Can Do it like Me. We were scared that we would get low votes from our parents.

Later on, the parents brought back the score and the girls won. Soon all the children were  eating lollies. We were so happy that we won. Soon after that my sister, cousins and I went to say happy birthday to my little cousin. When it got dark, we said goodbye to everybody and went home after that.

I like going to parties because it is a lot of fun.

Our last sesion of Orienteering was awesome!!

On Friday the 31st of March, my class and I went underneath a big tree to have our Orienteering session. The first thing that we did, was we all lined up in a straight line. My teacher and our coach timed to see how long it would take the class to complete the course. We were all given a map to follow. We were all happy because we did not have to buddy up. I tried to do my best to be the first girl to sit down. Eventually, we all completed our maps so we did another round. I like Orienteering because we get to run around and learn how to read a map.

Learning Intening : We are learning to write a verbal recount.
Success Criteria: I know I can do this when I write a brief recount to describe our fourth Orienteering session.

My Mum And Dad

In the holidays my dad came home and he asked my mum if they should get back together.  Then my mum said that the family will change if we get back together.  So she said it’s a no, and they had an argument.

My dad kept on coming back to see the family.  My dad and I went shopping for things.  We shopped for dolls, make up and roller skates.  My dad and I got gifts for everyone in the family.  We also got a gift for my dad.

My mum loves us just the way I love him.  He loves me too.

I talked to my dad about coming to Skateland and he said, “Yes”.  It was fun skating at Skateland.  We said, “Thank you”.  He said, “It is ok”.  Then we went home.
